• You can now choose if the Release Notes window should be opened for every or just for significant app updates. A "significant" update is one where the first or second part of the version changes. Like a change from version "4.3.5" to "4.4" or to "5.0". You can control this feature using the "gear" button on the bottom left of the Release Notes window.

• When creating a new document from a template, the print setup is now correctly initialized to the orientation (landscape or portrait) of the template.

Posterino 4.3 features a streamlined online help. All help related resources are now listed in one place where you can find Guides, FAQ, Shortcuts, Videos and references to blog articles.

• In the template browser you can now create a new document from the selected template by pressing the Return key. The little things which delight.

Posterino 4.2 is all about improvements to the built-in media browser. For example, you can now add image folders to the browser. Also the media browser displays handy information, like the number of images in an album or highlights which images are already used in a document.

New

• You can now add an image folder to the media browser via File > Import Images. Or by dragging a folder from the Finder to the album tree of the media browser.
• If you don’t plan to use Photos at all, you can switch off Photos support entirely. Go to Posterino > Settings > Media Browser to alter Photos support.
• The number of images in an album is now displayed on the album tree. You can show or hide the media count using the album tree context menu or via the main menu at View > Media Browser > Show Media Count.
• The media browser now displays the number of times an image is used by a document. The number is displayed as a badge on the top right corner of the images in question. You can show or hide the media usage count using the image browser context menu or via the main menu at View > Media Browser > Show Media Usage.
• The number of selected images is now displayed in the bottom left corner of the media browser.
• You can sort the images in the browser by creation date. To change the sort order use the the context menu or got to the main menu at View > Media Browser > Sort by.
• You can now select an image in the image browser and show it in the document via a context menu command.
• The image browser now restores the last selected album.
• A new keyboard shortcut for the main menu Images > Fill command.

• Added various translations for template and plugin names in all languages supported. Also improved the inspector user interface texts and tool tips.
• Made the photos animation in the background of the media browser access screen less obtrusive in Dark mode.

During the public beta phase Posterino underwent thorough testing by long time users and by people seeing Posterino for the first time. This test force discovered areas where the user interface needed improvements or some polish. Together we eradicated a whole bunch of nasty bugs in various areas of the app. My thanks goes out to the many lovely individuals who dedicated time to this endeavor and who provided helpful feedback and insights! Square-Grid Layouts

Some suggestions on using the new Square-Grid layout:

• Have a look at the How to apply the Square-Grid layout video for a quick overview
• Drop your images on the document background: Distribute the images on free placement squares available on your document
• The Square-Grid layout features a set of drop options depending on the mouse position on top or between the placement squares. Just move your drag objects around a bit to discover the different options.
• On the toolbar of the window there are two new action: Scale Down and Scale Up. Use these to scale your Square-Grid document to hold more or less images.
